The town of Nafplion is one of the most beautiful in the Peloponnese region of Greece and attracts huge numbers of visitors each year. It is located in the county of Argolida on the north east area of the Peloponnese, and is just a couple of hours from Athens.
Nafplion is a very interesting town with lots of places to see and visit. The Venetian fortress of Palamidi is located high above the town, and from here you can enjoy some stunning panoramic views. There is a medieval feel to the old town and it’s a great place to wander around.
In the sea before the entrance to the port you will see the landmark of Nafplion - the small fortressed islet - which once protected the town of naval attacks.
Nafplion is an important stopping point during visits to the Peloponnese is located close to two of the most popular attractions in the area – the archaeological sites of Epidaurus and Mycenae.
